After seventy winters and seventy springs her enduring smile has melted into the heat of summer.
Luella Sorenson Rosander died at her home of cancer on July 16, 1990, with the love of her family lighting her way. Her spirit, her courage, and her patience are legendary to Luella's family and friends.Luella was born on August 15, 1920, in Salt Lake City to Kris Olsen and Ruby Luella Davies Sorenson. She married Wallace L. Rosander on November 11, 1941. They were lifetime residents of Salt Lake City, and for the last 30 years have lived at their home in Holladay. Luella was active in the LDS Church, a respected neighbor, and irreplaceable grandmother. She has been a Temple worker and was a teacher, example and friend to generations of ward members. She was a warm and generous person who loved her family and the beauties of life.
She is survived by her husband, and by their two children, Gayle (and Gordon) Fletcher, and Dr. W. Kris (and Becky) Rosander; 10 grandchildren, G.R., DeEtte, Chard, Kevin and Marcy Fletcher; Kris, Amy, Mark, Jody and Kerry Rosander have never known life without Nana's laughter, her support or her love. Each is precious in her sight. Soren J. Sorenson, her brother, lives in Salt Lake City.
Funeral services for Luella will be held on Wednesday, July 18, at noon at the East Millcreek 9th Ward, 3750 Hillside Lane. Friends may call at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 East 7600 South (Bengal Blvd.) Tuesday evening, 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
