SHARE CYPRUS GRADUATE’S SONG STRIKES RIGHT NOTES IN NATIONAL CONTEST

Kristyn Osborn's country song is among the country's best.

The 1988 Cyprus High graduate entered her song, "My Heart Beats for You" in the seventh annual Mid-Atlantic Song Writing Contest.More than 1,200 songwriters from throughout the country and some foreign countries submitted more than 2,500 songs in the competition.

Osborn, 19, of West Valley City, walked away with the grand prize.

The 10 finalists competed in Washington, D.C., in an event attended by writers and music professionals from throughout the country. Rec-ord and publishing executives from New York City selected the winners.

Osborn performed the song with her sisters, Kelsi and Kassidy. She gave up her crown as the 1990 Miss West Valley to spend the summer in Nashville recording and promoting the "Osborn Sisters" and their country music act.

Osborn is also working in the music publishing firm of Milsap/Galbraith Music this summer.
