SHARE VERMILLION GETS FUNDS FOR IRRIGATION PROJECT

Water projects in south-central Utah are on track, with Vermillion receiving funds for an irrigation project and Gunnison seeking funds for a culinary water improvement program.

The Vermillion Irrigation Co. secured a $153,000 loan from the Utah Board of Water Resources to help pay for reconstructing irrigation diversion structures on the Sevier River. The project is estimated to cost $172,000.Gunnison officials have requested funding to drill and equip a new culinary water well, construct a water storage tank and for new lines and other improvements to the water system. That project is estimated to cost $744,000.
