West Millard County's economy will get a boost during the next 10 months with the hiring of 30 employees at the Brush Wellman beryllium mine in the west desert area.
Additional employees are needed to remove about 7.8 million cubic yards of overburden waste from two new pits at the mine, located about 50 miles northwest of Delta.The contract for removal of the overburden was awarded to Selland Construction Inc. of Elko, Nev.
The work will begin Aug. 1 and be completed by June 1, 1991.
Mechanics and heavy equipment operators will be hired through the Millard County Job Service in Delta, telephone 864-4545. Interviews will be done in late July.
Officials also urged vendors who are interested in supporting the firm in the project to call Selland in Elko at (702) 753-7400.
