A South Salt Lake man remained in critical condition Wednesday with injuries he received more than a week ago when he fell head-first off an overpass.

Larry A. Spencer, 39, was apparently working on the I-80 freeway overpass at 1000 West. Witnesses said he had been laying metal decking and stepped on one piece that had not been secured. It slipped and he fell 30 feet from the freeway supports to the street below, a Salt Lake police report said.Spencer remained in the intensive care unit at LDS Hospital in critical condition Wednesday - eight days after the accident occurred, a spokeswoman said.
