An appeals court has thrown out the convictions of four people sentenced to life in prison two years ago for a 1980 bombing that killed 85 people at Bologna's train station.
It said after 15 days of deliberation that defendants Valerio Fioravanti; his wife, Francesca Mambro; Massimiliano Fachini; and Sergio Picciafuoco had not committed the crime.State-run RAI-TV described Wednesday's verdict as a "shock."
