OK, fellow coach potatoes, are you sitting down? CBS has signed that fun couple, Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal, to star in a sitcom sometime this coming season.

Whoa, are we excited or what?No word on whether the couple's son, Redmond, will appear on the show.

The good news is that Alan Zweibel (one of the men behind the original "Saturday Night Live" and "It's Garry Shandling's Show) created the show and is an executive producer.

"The humor, love, passion and battles of this real-life couple will be part of their relationship on the show in a unique and hopefully entertaining way for the audience," said co-executive producers Bernie Brillstein and Brad Grey in a joint statement.

No name has been chosen for the show yet.

This will be Fawcett's first series since she left "Charlie's Angels" in 1977. O'Neal hasn't been a regular on the tube since "Peyton Place" in 1969.

For those of you who haven't kept up with Fawcett and O'Neal: Yes, they are still living together; Yes, they do have a son; and No, they are not married.

WELCOME, WELCOME: Let's all give Christi O'Connor, KUTV's new anchorwoman, a big hello to Utah and the Salt Lake television market.

Beginning today, O'Connor takes over as co-anchor of Ch. 2's 6 p.m. newscast.

FOND FAREWELL: At the same time, let's take a minute to say goodbye to KUTV's Kathy Brock, who's leaving us for the bright lights of Chicago.

Brock will be taking over as the anchor of WLS' 6:30 a.m. newscast as well as taking on some reporting duties for the ABC affiliate, which is No. 1 in the nation's No. 3 market.

But first, Brock will take a little time off to have her baby.

Good luck with both endeavors . . . and you will be missed here in Utah.

RUMOR MILL: Maybe Terry Wood is returning to KUTV as Ch. 2's main anchorman. Maybe he's not. Nobody's talking.

But now there's an unconfirmed rumor floating around that another former KUTV anchor - Randall Carlisle - is also under consideration by Ch. 2.

Carlisle has had his problems since moving to Minneapolis. His new station's ratings haven't improved since his arrival, and rumors of his imminent departure have swirled since the day he arrived in Minnesota.

KUTV officials had no comment on this latest twist in their ongoing anchor search. And Carlisle was on vacation and unavailable for comment.
