Word was received by the family July 16, 1990 of the death of Vern Joel Hadley, 68, former resident of Salt Lake City, Utah, where he attended school, graduating from South High. Resident of Mesa, Arizona 17 years.

Born April 22, 1922 in Salt Lake City. Died May 22, 1990 in Mesa Lutheran Hospital of cancer.Married Goldie Jarvis August 6, 1940; later divorced. From this union four children were born, son, Kenneth Jarvis Hadley (wife Patricia); daughters, Mrs. Neil (LaVerne) Rasmussen, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Mrs. Jay (Joelyn) Weston, Syracuse, Ut.; Mrs. Robert (Gloria) Lauber, Salt Lake City; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 20 step grandchildren, 25 step-great-grandchildren.

Served in the Armed Forces, WW II, Infantry, 10th Mountain Division in Italy and the Air Force in Austria.

Retired from Hill AFB, production manager, Logistics Command. He loved to travel above all other things; traveled in his work to many states and foreign lands.

Later in life, Vern found great joy working in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Served a Family History Mission in Salt Lake City after which he died genealogy work in Mesa, Arizona.

He touched the lives of all who knew him in his special way. Through him, his children and grandchildren know with a perfect knowledge that repentance, love and forgiveness are God's Greatest Healing Power.

Vern married Pearl Esplin Glenn June 11, 1971; later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. No children from this marriage.

Three brothers, Leonard, Myrle, Salt Lake City; and Don, Walla Walla, Wash.; three sisters, Thelma Holbrook, Darlene Henderson, Beth Hadley; many nieces and nephews, survive him. Sister, Ethel Ryder, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held in Mesa, Arizona, Saturday, May 26, 1990 and in Preston, Idaho. Under direction of Bunker Mortuary, Mesa, and Webb Mortuary, Preston. Burial, Preston, Idaho May 29, 1990.

`Goodbye Dad, goodbye Grandpa. Rest in Peace.
