Betty Lou Halvorsen Covert, age 65, died Saturday, July 21,1990 in Salt Lake City following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born March 13, 1925 in Los Angeles, California to Einar and Edith LaVern Fairclough Halvorsen. Married Charles L. Covert, June 5, 1958 in Elko, Nevada. He died March 1, 1989. She had a bubbly personality and a zest for life. She never faltered during her illness. She was a member of the L.D.S. Church and retired from American Linen Supply in 1987 following many years of employment.Survived by four daughters and one son, Mrs. Roger (Julie) Lees, Sandy, Utah; Dawnetta Holway, Midvale, Utah; Mrs. David (Becky) Chapman, Jacksonville, Florida; Mrs. Tommy (Joy) Duran and Tim Covert, both Salt Lake City; 11 grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Howard (LaVern) Buck, Vallejo, California and Mrs. Roy (Edith) Christensen, Sandy, Utah; many relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 26, 1990 at 12 Noon in the Riverside Stake Center, 1100 West 500 North. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Wednesday evening 6-8 p.m. and Thursday at the ward one hour prior to the services. Burial in Salt Lake City Cemetery.
