Finally, it's Carl Lewis and Leroy Burrell against each other and the clock.
The highly anticipated confrontation between the world's top two sprinters occurs tonight at Husky Stadium in the 100-meter dash. The similiarities between the two go beyond speed and power. They are teammates on the Santa Monica Track Club, both attended Houston and are coached by Tom Tellez.
And they are friends, unlike Lewis and Canadian Ben Johnson, the defrocked 1988 Olympic first-place finisher, who dislike each other intensely.
Lewis and Burrell are undefeated this season, and their matchup is the most eagerly awaited in the 100 since Lewis and Johnson met in the Seoul Games.
