SHARE DEATH: A.E. (GENE) FLEMING

A. E. (Gene) Fleming, 80, died July 23, 1990.

Born November 1, 1909 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alfred Moroni and Helen Bourne Fleming. Married Edna Collett, August 20, 1930 in a ceremony performed by Apostle Orson F. Whitney, an uncle. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple. Retired from General Electric, where he was a District and Regional Manager in Salt Lake and Denver. Also worked for Utah Power & Light Co. as a lighting specialist. Engineered the first lighting of the SL Temple and Centre Theatre. Served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 3 1/2 years.Member of Rotary International Club. Member of the Illuminating Engineers Society where he served as President and Vice President. Formerly served with the Bishopric of the Cottonwood 12th Ward. High Priest in the Crescent 24th Ward. Resident of Crosslands retirement Center. Enjoyed baseball, golf, and playing the organ. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved everyone.

He is survived by his wife, Edna, Sandy; one daughter, Barbara Wood, Dunwoody, Georgia; one son Don Fleming, South Jordan, Utah; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a daughter, Daryl Joyce Fleming.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 12 Noon, July 27, 1990 at Wasatch Lawm Mortuary Chapel, 3401 S. Highland Drive, where friends may call on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday one hour prior to services. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
