SHARE COLLEGE-BOUND EAGLE SCOUTS MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR SCHOLARSHIPS

Young men who have earned the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America and are planning to attend college can apply for special scholarships, according to Rees Falkner, Scout executive.

Falkner said the scholarships are available to Eagle Scouts through the National Eagle Scout Association. Information about them may be obtained at the council office in Provo.Young men who are Eagle Scouts should note that they have earned this rank on any scholarship applications to colleges and universities, according to Falkner.

"Many institutions give preferential consideration to those who have demonstrated the ability to earn the Eagle award," Falkner said.
