Barken International, a general aviation company headquartered at the Salt Lake International Airport, has signed an agreement with Sun Valley Aviation, meaning Barken will provide all air charter services previously conducted by Sun Valley at the Sun Valley Airfield in Hailey, Idaho.
Barken already has based some airplanes in Hailey, according to Ken Hepner, Barken vice president.Wayne Warner, Sun Valley Aviation's owner, said Barken's flight safety record, operational capability and business reputation made it the only qualified contender for this agreement. It means greatly expanded customer service to and from Sun Valley.
"This is a very natural affiliation for our company since we currently fly so heavily throughout Idaho," said Hepner. "This new operation places us in an enhanced position to not only better serve the Sun Valley area but all of Idaho as well," he said.
Barken plans to staff the new operation with personnel hired locally and maintain aircraft on a permanent basis at Sun Valley. Jet service will be available including Lear, Westwind and Gulfstream, a new 12-passenger aircraft.
