SHARE PROVO BAND PERFORMS SUNDAY IN NORTH PARK

The Provo Municipal Band will perform its fourth free concert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 29, in North Park, 500 N. 500 West.

Ralph G. Laycock will lead off the program with Prokofieff's "March," Opus 99, followed by Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" and Beethoven's "Egmont" Overture.The band will play a medley of tunes in "Lerner and Loewe in Concert" before Laycock leads children and parents around the park to the tune of Alford's "Colonel Bogey March."

Music following the march will include Cailliet's Variations on "Pop Goes the Weasel" and Anderson's "The Rakes of Mallow."

Concertgoers are reminded to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on.

The hourlong concerts are co-sponsored by the Music Performance Trust Fund, Provo City Parks and Recreation and the music department at Brigham Young University.
