Frank Wagstaff McGhie, 92, died Tuesday, July 24, 1990, at the home of a daughter.

Born May 9, 1898 in Salt Lake City, the son of James Jr. and Susannah Marie Wagstaff McGhie. Married Zola Jacobs, July 11, 1928 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death March 18, 1982. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving a mission to Scotland 1922-24. He was on the general board of the MIA from 1937-57. Served on Bonneville Stake High Council 1960-70. MIA stake boards in Murray, Kaysville and Bonneville.During World War I he served in the Infantry for a short time. Graduated from University of Utah in 1926 and helped organize "The Babcock Varsity Players" in 1925. He was the business manager Utonian and the Humbug, and was an active member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Member of the Skull and Bones and the Owl and Key Clubs. He managed the bathing dept at Saltaire. He received his MS degree from BYU.

He was a seminary teacher, principal and coordinator for the LDS Church, having taught at Driggs, Idaho, Kaysville, the LDS High School, West High School, Lehi, Murrah High, South High, East High, Davis High, Granger High, and Olympus High School, from 1926-80. He was coordinator of the Salt Lake seminaries and the Hawaiian seminaries. He also taught English and citizenship classes for 25 years.

Survived by two daughters and a son, Mrs. Todd (Sylvia) Eagar, Mrs. Keith (Cherie) Sorensen, F. Lynn McGhie, all of Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, July 30, 12 Noon, LDS Bonneville Stake Center, 1536 Bonneview Dr. Friends may call at the stake center Sunday, 6-8 p.m and Monday, 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, directed by the Myers Mortuary of Ogden.
