Glen Wayne Benson, 61 of Springlake, died Thursday, July 26, 1990 as the result of a drowning accident at Fairview Lakes.
He was born April 15, 1929 at Springlake, a son of Wayne William and Ella Ferne Cowan Benson. He married Dorthella Bryson, July 17, 1951, at Payson. Their marriage was solemnized in 1965 in the Manti LDS Temple. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Geneva Steel Corporation where he had worked as a welder for 40 years. He loved gardening, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.He is survived by his wife of Springlake; a son and a daughter and their spouses, Lynn Wayne and Betty Benson, Carson City, Nevada; Deborah and David Smith, Payson; a daughter-in-law, Robin Benson, of Price; six grandchildren; four sisters, Utahna Mitchell and Mrs. Ross (Pat) Huff, both of Payson; Mrs. Raymond (Lola) Hall, Spanish Fork; and Mrs. Shirl (Kaye) Beddoes, of Springlake. A son, Dennis B. Benson, preceded him in death.
Services will be Monday, 1 p.m. in the Springlake First Ward Chapel, 12625 Springlake Road. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South100 West, Payson, Sunday 6-8 p.m. or at the church Monday, one hour prior to the services. Interment, Payson City Cemetery.
