Three business leaders have been appointed as trustees for the Hawthorne University Foundation for Education and Research.

The foundation aims to provide scholarships to local and foreign students at the private school, 155 E. 3300 South. Rick Lamoreaux, school development director, said the institution's programs allow students to complete the last two years of high school and two years of college credit at the same time.The new trustees are: John R. Hanson, senior vice president and department administrator of Valley Bank and Trust; Jeffrey B. Hatch, president and general manager of KUTV, Channel 2; and H. Craig Moody, a real estate broker, owner of Moody and Associates, and majority leader of the Utah House of Representatives.
