The U.S. Postal Service is studying how much service is needed in this city and whether to relocate the post office.
The studies will investigate existing buildings that might house the service, according to the Kenneth R. Prentiss, general manager/postmaster of the area postal division. In a letter to the Sevier County Commission, he said he invited suggestions by residents of the community and said he would meet with local officials to review Postal Service preliminary plans.
Two locations are being studied for a post office, Center Street between 300 North and 100 South and Main Street between 300 East and 300 West.
