Divers resumed a search on Echo Reservoir on Tuesday for two people missing following a boat collision that injured several others, authorities say.

A Summit County sheriff's dispatcher said the two boats collided about 8 p.m. Monday and that four or five people on the boats were taken to a medical clinic in Coalville and treated.A county search and rescue team member who declined to give his name said divers went into the water shortly after the accident but had to abandon the search because of poor visibility.

Dispatcher Tama Atkinson said the search resumed at daybreak Tuesday on the eastern side of the lake. She said a command post had been set up near boat docks at the southern end of the reservoir.

On Monday, a dispatcher said the boats collided about 200 yards from the docks. The cause of the accident remained under investigation and details of the collision were unavailable, said the dispatcher, who would not give her name.
