Two junior golfers qualified for the PGA Junior Championship in Florida next month by their solid play Monday and Tuesday at Logan Country Club.
Scott Clark, a 17-year-old who attends Hillcrest High, shot a 72 and 68 for a two-day total of 140 in the two-day event to defeat Jason Wight and Jim McGregor by one shot.Reid Freeman, 17-year-old who attends Judge Memorial, won the girls event with a 155 and defeated Skyli Yamada by three shots.
Clark and Freeman, who topped 160 competitors, will play at Palm Beach Gardens Fla. Aug. 20-24 at PGA National Golf Club. Each state sends one boy and one girl to the event.
