William Herman Glissmeyer, son of Herman H. and Sophia Westphal Glissmeyer, age 84, died June 30, 1990 at his home in Bountiful, Utah after a brief illness. A devoted father and husband, churchworker and friend, we will miss him enormously.

Bill married Alice T. Richards February 6, 1936 in the Salt Lake Temple. He served an LDS Mission to Germany, two stake missions, holding numberous church positions in the Sunday School, Scouts, Aaronic Priesthood, Bishopric, as a trainer in a five Stake Region German Extraction Center and up until his illness he served in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a West High School Graduate and received his Accounting degree from the LDS Business College. He spent much of his personal time gardening and cheerfully helping family and friends.Bill is survived by his wife, Alice; their three children, Garry W. Glissmeyer, Colorado Springs Colo; Darryl R. Glissmeyer, San Dimas, Calif.; Cindy Lu Oliver, Estes Park, Colo., 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Dean, American Fork; and Pearl Johnson, Payson. He has been an uncomplaining inspiration to all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 1990, in the Bountiful Ninth Ward, 585 East Center Street. Friends may call on Wednesday, 6-8 p.m., Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and at the church Thursday from 10-10:45 prior to the services. Interment: Bountiful City Cemetery.
