Myrtle Bowen Shaw, 79, died Saturday, July 7, 1990 at her home.
Born August 1, 1910 in Hoytsville, Utah to Edward Howell and Blanche Rishton Bowen. Married Ronald Earl Shaw June 14, 1929 in Salt Lake City; solemnized later in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Attended school in Hoytsville and completed school in North Summit. Member LDS Church, Coaville 2nd Ward where she taught Primary. She had been a postmistress at Grass Creek for two years, worked at the Coalville Hospital for 15 years, at the AV Lunch Cafe for three years, Deans Coffee Shop for one year, Children's Clinic for Dr. Oldham 12 years, Bunnies Cafe for 12 years, and Barbers Store for 12 years.Survived by husband, Coalville; two sons and daughter, Darwin Earl Shaw, Carter, Wyo.; Keith Bowen Shaw; and Renee Shaw Bennett, both Coalville; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Sadie Marie Bowen Sawley, Coalville. Preceded in death by brother, Edward Bowen; two sisters, Evan Bowen Vernon; and Mable Evelyn Bowen Vernon.
Funeral services Wednesday, 1 p.m., Coalville Stake Center. Friends may call at Walker Mortuary in Coalville Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment, Coalville City Cemetery.
