Haruto Hosoda, 96, died July 7, 1990 in Rexburg, Idaho of causes incident to age.
She was born May 2, 1894 at Hiroshima, Japan to Hikojiro Takahashi Satoh and Kono Satoh. She married Harry Karoku Hosoda, August 16, 1920 at Hiroshima. They came to the United States that same year. She became a U.S. citizen in 1954. She was a registered nurse in Japan, and also worked at the Rexburg Hospital in the surgical ward. She also operated the Star Cafe in St. Anthony. She was a devote member of the Buddhist Church.Survivors: two sons, Leo H. Hosoda, Vacaville, California; Paul Y. Hosoda, Bellevue, Washington; daughter, Mabel S. Sakota, Sugar City; two sisters, Itoyo Tashima and Yoshiko Magata, both of Japan; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; preceded in death by her husband in 1965.
A wake will be held Monday, 6 p.m., Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. Viewing 7-8 p.m. Monday. Funeral services Tuesday 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home in Rexburg. Burial: Rexburg Cemetery.
