David M. Gaisford, 70, of Bay Head, died Wednesday at his home.
He had been master director for Sunrider International in the New York-New Jersey area. Before that he was a marketing executive for IBM, Princeton, N.J., for 34 years before retiring in 1982. He received a bachelor's degree in 1948 from the University of California at Berkeley. Bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in the Lakewood, N.J. Ward. Served as a medical officer in the Merchant Marine during World War II. He also had been an oarsman in the 1948 Olympics.Mr. Gaisford was born in Ogden, Utah and lived in Orinda, CA, before moving to Bay Head twelve-and-a-half years ago.
Surviving are his wife, the former Shirley Woodcock, Bay Head, NJ, two sons, Tyler Woodcock Gaisford, Kuna, Idaho; and David L. Gaisford, Santa Barbara, CA; two daughters, Kimberly Gaisford-Lord, Marlboro Township, NJ; and Kelly Woodcock Gaisford, Bay Head, NJ; four brothers, Lawrence D. Gaisford, Bellevue, WA; Harold R. Gaisford, Phoenix, AZ.; Keith R. Gaisford, Fairfield, CA; and Ray C. Gaisford, Fremont, CA; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services in Salt Lake City will be held at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Tuesday at 1 PM, where friends may call from 11 AM to 1 PM.
