Wayne A. Day

MOAB-Wayne A. Day, age 84, passed away August 19, 1990 in Moab.He was born in Moab, Utah to Abe and Estella Dalton Day on June 14, 1906. He married Rowene Stewart December 31, 1929. She preceded him in death in 1978 after 49 years of marriage. He married Lelia Turner in 1981; she passed away in 1989. He operated the Day Coal Mines in Raines, Utah until 1950, where he owned and operated the Grand Valley Motel in Moab until his retirement in 1977.

Surviving: Children, Mrs. Frank (Joyce) Vasso, Price, Utah; Jack Day, Las Vegas, Nevada; Jerry Day, Moab; Mrs. Norma Tidwell, Panama City, Florida; stepchildren, Mrs. Bob (Wilene) Shumway, Mrs. Bill (Jacque) Shelton, both of Moab; Mrs. Judy Kimball; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 26 step-grandchildren; 33 step-great-grandchildren; brothers, sister, Mrs. Dora Rynio, Abe Day, Orson Day, Golden Day.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10 a.m. at the LDS First Ward Chapel in Moab. Interment: Grand Valley Cemetery in Moab under the direction of Hefner Funeral Home.
