Actor Dennis Quaid, accused of making false statements to obtain a Montana resident fishing license, failed to appear in court in Livingston.

His lawyer, Joe Swindlehurst, said Quaid simply forgot to show up Friday.Quaid, the star of such movies as "Great Balls of Fire," "The Right Stuff" and "The Big Easy," keeps a home near Livingston. He was accused Aug. 13 of falsely stating that he is a Montana resident on a license bought May 19.

Justice of the Peace Deanna Egeland said she did not sign an arrest warrant for Quaid after he failed to show because Swindlehurst posted $115 bond Monday. Swindlehurst also entered a plea of not guilty on behalf of his client.
