According to a statewide survey, Springville's total business activity increased by almost 24 percent last year over 1988.

A Utah Foundation report on Utah business activity trends indicates that city businesses brought in a little more than $57 million in gross business receipts in 1989, as compared to almost $47 million in gross sales in 1988.Those numbers are based on a gross sales volume before a 4.8 percent adjustment for inflation last year.

The 1989 receipts almost double sales income numbers from 1980 (during which city businesses brought in a little more than $29 million) and are nearly five times the receipts from 1970 ($11.4 million).
