Karen W. Peterson, director of the College of Business Student Service Center at Utah State University, has been named 1990 Outstanding Adviser for the Rocky Mountain region of the American College Testing/National Academic Advising Association.

"Our students and faculty have long been aware of the excellent advising Karen Peterson does and this national recognition and honor testify to her excellence," said Business Dean David Stephens.Peterson has been director of the student service center in the College of Business since it was set up in 1979. She assists approximately 1,000 freshmen and sophomore business students each year.

She received the Phi Beta Lambda accounting fraternity Adviser Award in 1982, was named College of Business Adviser of the Year in 1983 and received the International Student Adviser Award in 1989.
