New Mexico stockman Ernest Perez won the premier exhibitor award Tuesday at the 1990 National Wool Show, giving him the top prize for a second year.

If Perez, operator of Perez & Sons ranch, Encinal, N.M., wins the exhibitor prize one more time, he will retire the trophy.Perez entered four fleeces in the show, part of the 75th annual National Ram Sale, and all four received prizes, including the show's top award, Supreme Champion, for a rambouillet ram fleece.

Another of his fleeces was runner-up in the commercial range ewe-fine blood class.

Frank S. Price, Sterling City, Texas, was second to Perez as the show's top exhibitor. Price entered three fleeces in the competition, including the champion in the commercial range ram class.

And the runner-up to Perez for supreme champion fleece was submitted by 8-year-old Karen Dally, Hop-land, Calif. It was Dally's third time in the National Wool Show and her highest finish.
