Arthur "Art" William Wiscomb, age 83, passed away peacefully, August 23, 1990, in a local hospital.

Born September 27, 1906, Salt Lake City, Utah, to Walter Charles and Thora Petersen Wiscomb. Married Sarah L. Irvine, August 13, 1928, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; she preceded him in death October 29, 1983. In his early years Art worked for the Union Pacific RR, then for many years he was the purchasing agent for Salt Lake County; he then shifted his position to the State of Utah, where he was an auditor in the Welfare Dept. He was an active member of the East Mill Creek Lion's Club, and was a past president and lifetime member of the East Mill Creek/Old Mill Chapter of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers. Active High Priest in the LDS Church, he served in many church callings over the years. He was our dear sweet dad, grandpa, brother, and friend, and we'll miss him.Survivors include a daughter and two sons, A. William "Bill", Jr. (and Darlyne) and Carol (and John) Anderson, both from Salt Lake City, and John A., of Linwood, Washington; 24 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Winnifred Poulter, also Salt Lake, and Thelma Moss Gunn, Beaver, Utah. Preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Johnson; a granddaughter; a sister; and two brothers.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 27th, 12 noon, in the Garden Park Second Ward, 1150 E. Yale Ave (1080 So.), with Bishop Floyd Jensen officiating. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-7 at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 So. 2300 East, and at the church on Monday from 10:30 to 20 minutes prior to the services. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Funeral Chapel.
