Frederick A. Fahrni, age 83, passed away August 23, 1990, in a West Jordan hospital after a short illness.
He was born June 13, 1907 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Gottfried Fahrni and Clara Isabell Fraser. Married Zelma Elaine Coombs, October 10, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah; marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a resident of Tooele, Lark and Copperton. Retire from the United States Smelting, Refining and Mining Company (Lark Mine). He Was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a member of the Bishopric in the Lark Ward, in the High Priest Group leadership in the Copperton Ward and as a worker in the Jordan River Temple. He was also a devoted scouter, serving the Lark Troop for many years. A devoted family man, he spent many hours hunting, fishing, camping and serving his family. He leaves a rich legacy of community, church and family service as an example for his family to follow.His family wish to thank the kind and caring staff at Holy Cross Jordan Valley Hospital who eased his passing.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine, Copperton; three sons, Grant A., West Jordan; Elvin F. (wife Janette), Taylorsville; Darrel G., Sandy; two daughters, Lois, (Mrs. Alvin H. Kieffer), Bountiful; Jeannine (Mrs. James Goodfellow), West Valley City; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Arthur Williams Fahrni; sister, Louise Roberts Harrison, both Salt Lake City. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Elva; and daughter-in-law, Lena Gallant (Mrs. Grant A. Fahrni).
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 27, 1990, at 2 p.m., Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City, where friends may call Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
