Leonard D. Benson, age 64, died August 24, 1990 in Salt Lake City after a long illness.

Born November 18, 1925 in Baggs, Wyoming, son of Charles R. and Annabelle Fleming Benson. He married Carol McGavin, October 23, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Served an LDS Mission in Brazil. Active High Priest in the Holladay 10th Ward. He returned to Brazil 14 years later with his family to build 2 beautiful chapels. He was a veil worker in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a building contractor and took great pride in his work.Survived by wife, Carol, Salt Lake; children, Craig L. Benson and wife, Susan, Arlington, Texas; Sheri L. Benson, Salt Lake; Shauna B. Putnam and husband, Kent, Taylorsville; Brad J. Benson and wife, Sheila, Sandy; Mark L. Benson and wife, Cindy, Sacramento, Calif.; eight grandchildren, sister, Katherine Stoddard.

Funeral services, Tuesday, August 28, 1990, 12 noon at the Holladay 10th LDS Ward, 2600 East 4800 So. Friends may call Monday 6-8 p.m. at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 So. 900 East and Tuesday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 So. (Bengal Blvd.)
