A Salt Lake man and a 2-year-old girl were injured Saturday when their automobile careened off of a guard post on I-15 and rolled one-and-a-half times, a Utah Highway Patrol trooper said.

The child, whose name has not been released, was taken by ambulance to Primary Children's Medical Center. She was treated for minor injuries and abrasions, a hospital spokeswoman said.The driver, 36, is listed in critical condition at LDS Hospital.

The accident occurred at 5:30 p.m. when the vehicle took the 900 South off-ramp, struck a highway post, bounced back onto the road and rolled one-and-a-half times, trooper Cathy Slagowski said.
