A pickup truck and a motor home collided Saturday near Redman Campground, injuring six people, one critically.

Scott M. Beverley, 21, of Salt Lake City, was flown by helicopter to the University of Utah Hospital with two broken legs, a concussion and lacerations, a hospital spokeswoman said. He was listed in critical condition Saturday.Brett Bosen, 23, of Salt Lake City, was taken by helicopter to the U. Hospital, where he was treated and then released.

The accident occurred at 1:30 p.m. when an pickup truck, driven by Beverley, was traveling east on U-190 up Big Cottonwood Canyon. It collided with a westbound motor home, driven by Michael K. Daniels, 38, of West Jordan, who sustained minor injuries, Deputy Sheriff Robert Petersen said.

Daniels was treated at Alta View Hospital and released.

The impact of the crash destroyed the steering column of the motor home, causing Daniels to lose control of the vehicle, which traveled 180 feet down the canyon.
