"Mr. Steinbrenner and I have had a conversation about my possible association with the New York Yankees," the three-time Cy Young Award winner said. "We do not have a date for another meeting if, in fact, there will ever be one."The New York Daily News reported in its Sunday editions that Seaver, the star of the New York Mets in the 1960s and 1970s, will be named general manager of the team before owner George Steinbrenner quits as general partner.
