Mildred Geneve Kerksiek Johnson, 79, of Orem, died December 29, 1990, at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo.

She was born October 10, 1911, a daughter of Herman and Alma A. Kaestner Kersiek in Salt Lake City. She married Wallace Johnson June 5, 1935, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died July 7, 1985. She received her teaching certificate from the University of Utah. She taught school in Tabiona, Utah. She was a teacher and maintenance worker at the Missionary Training Center. She served in many capacities in the LDS Church, including nine years in the German Genealogical Extraction Program.Survivors include one son and two daugters, Wallace Kenny Johnson, Boise, Idaho; Linda Lou Johnson, Orem; Mrs. Robert (JoAnn) Alexander, Lovettsville, Virginia; eight grandchildren; one sister and one brother; Mrs. Ed (Lucille) Hansen, Salt Lake City, and Harry Kerksiek, Midvale.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 2, 1991, 11 a.m. in Windsor 5th Ward Chapel, 1390 North Main, Orem. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State, Orem, and also from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the ward chapel. Burial, Tabiona Cemetery.
