Marion Foster Lyon Brown, age 87, passed away January 14, 1991 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born April 25, 1903 in Salt Lake City to Joseph Cornelius and Eunice Emilia Foster Lyon. Married Zachariah "Zach" Evans Brown on April 20, 1946, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1990. Prior to her marriage to Zach she worked for 28 years as office manager for the Beasley CPA firm. Active in LDS Church callings until just a month prior to her death. She was a ward organist as well as serving in various other positions. She served for over 42 years as a Temple worker including three years as Matron of the New Zealand LDS Temple.Survived by sons and daughters, Darrell Z. (wife Dorothy) Brown; L. Ray (wife Kathleen) Brown; Erva Dean (husband Kent) Dastrup; and Donna Fay (husband Ralph) Coates; 15 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a grandson, Brent Coates; two sisters, Afton Langton and Vera Picco. Her devotion to her family, and especially to her husband Zach, has been an example to all of us.
Funeral services on Wednesday, January 16th, at 1 p.m., Grant 4th Ward, 1111 East Charlton Avenue (2818 South). Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, on Tuesday evening 6-8 p.m., and at the Ward on Wednesday, 11:30-12:45 a.m. Burial, Midvale City Cemetery.
