Digitran Inc., 90 N. 100 East, will hold an open house Friday, Jan. 18, from 2-5 p.m. to demonstrate the operation of a new crane simulation system capable of simulating single lift and twin lift dock gantry container cranes.
The simulator, built for Conaust Ltd., Australia, will be used to train seaport personnel to load and unload containers from ships. It will be installed on 40-foot-high cube containers for easy transport by rail, road or water to various training sites in the country.Founded in 1979, Digitran manufactures a variety of crane simulators for the maritime, manufacturing and construction industries, along with an array of training simulators and engineering software for the petroleum industry. The company relocated its headquarters from Lafayette, La., to Logan in 1988.
