Rev. Martin A. McNicholas, age 81, died January 17, 1991, in Salt Lake City.
Born June 2, 1909 in Chester, Pennsylvania to Martin and Bridget Kane McNicholas. Graduate of Epiphany Apostolic College, New Burgh, New York, and St. Joseph's Seminary, Washington D.C. He was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest June 6, 1936, at the Cathedral in Cincinatti, Ohio as a member of the Josephite Fathers. He joined the Diocese of Salt Lake City, December 13, 1974. While in Utah Father McNicholas assisted in the parish's of Our Lady of Guadalupe, St. Vincent's, Sacred Heart, St. Marguerites, Tooele, Utah, and St. Patrick's. He was administrator of St. Helen's, Roosevelt, Utah and St. Mary's, Park City, Utah. He was Pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish, Copperton, Utah until his retirement August 17, 1982.Survived by a brother, Timothy, Margate, New Jersey; sister, Catherine, Aston, Pennsylvania.
Funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, 10 a.m., St. Ann's Catholic Church, 450 East 2100 South. A vigil service will be held Sunday, 7 p.m. also at the church, where friends may call Sunday 6-7 p.m. Committal service, Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary.
