Eunice Shriver, sister of President Kennedy and mother of television newswoman Maria Shriver, has undergone surgery in Baltimore to repair two broken arms injured in a head-on collision last week.
Mrs. Shriver, 69, was in stable condition but will need additional surgery to repair her hip socket, also injured in the car accident, said Johns Hopkins Hospital spokeswoman Carol Pearson.According to police, Mrs. Shriver's car crossed the center line last Wednesday in Washington and collided with a van, whose driver was not injured.
