The International Tennis Federation announced Wednesday that the Davis Cup series between the United States and Mexico had been postponed because of security reasons connected with the gulf war.

Thomas Hallberg, the ITF's director of men's tennis, said the United States Tennis Association was concerned about its players' safety and had called for the postponment. The series was scheduled for Feb. 1-3 and has been put back until March 29-31.
