Amelia Madrid Romero, 83, passed away at Holy Cross hospital on January 27, 1991.
She was born September 5, 1907 in Rodarte, New Mexico to Jesus and Rumaldita Domingues Madrid. Married Rodolfo Romero, August 24, 1926, in Rodarte, New Mexico. Amelia was a member of St. Therese Parish and a member of the Gudalupana Society. She gave extensive volunteer service to her parish and all who were in need.Survivors, husband of 64 years, Rodolfo, Midvale; 13 children, Joe M. and wife, Corina, Kearns; Margaret Watzek and husband, Andy, Phoenix, Arizona; Nelson O. and wife, Ida, Lee V. and wife, Rose, John A. and wife, Grace, Rudy Jr. and wife, Edelia, Sandy; Floyd and wife, Dorothy, Frank and wife, Dorothy, all Midvale; Lorraine Lopez and husband, Eddie, Sandy; Theresa Lopez and husband, Edward, Sylvia Montoya and husband, Phillip, Manuel and wife, Rebecca, all West Jordan; Rosina Griego and husband, Richard, Fruit Heights; 43 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren; sister, Tonita Trujillo, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Jose E. Madrid, Manuel Madrid, Epefania Sanchez, Doloritas Martinez, Beatrice Martinez, Marinita Sanchez, Elveria Madrid and Onicimo Madrid.
Funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, January 30, 1991, 10 a.m. in St. Therese Catholic Church, 75 E. Lennox St., Midvale. Vigil service and rosary will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m. at St. Therese. Friends are welcome to call at the church Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday until 9:45 a.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates, West Jordan. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the St. Therese Building Fund. Goff Mortuary, Funeral Directors.
