SHARE DAR WILL MEET TO PLAN ANNUAL STATE CONFERENCE

The board of Utah State Society Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at the home of Mrs. Vaughan J. Wimmer to plan the organization's annual state conference, to be held in Salt Lake City March 1-2.

Mrs. Donald S. Blair, first vice president general of the National Society, will be the guest speaker at the conference to commemorate the DAR Centennial Jublilee Year.The DAR was being promoted in Utah before the state was admitted to the Union. Mrs. Orange J. Salisbury formed the Spirit of Liberty Chapter in Salt Lake City in 1897. The Golden Spike Chapter was organized in Ogden in 1919, and the State Society became a reality in 1920.

Women who can prove direct descent from a man or a woman who served the cause of independence are eligible for membership. For information, call Mrs. Verdi R. White, state membership chairman, Salt Lake City.
