The American Federation of Teachers-Utah presented 10 awards last week at its first state federation conference and luncheon in Salt Lake City.

- Graham Stork, assistant professor, Salt Lake Community College, and vice president Utah College Council-AFT, "Top College Recruiter."
- Wilma Bate, secretary, Salt Lake City School District, and president, Salt Lake Educational Office Personnel-AFT, "Top Classified Recruiter."
- Paul Shepherd, third-fourth-grade teacher, Copper Hills Elementary, Granite District, "AFT Elementary School Teacher of the Year."
- Steve Bickmore, West Jordan High School teacher, Jordan District, "AFT Secondary Teacher of the Year."
- Russell Wilson, instructor, College of Eastern Utah, Price, "AFT Community College Teacher of the Year."
- Dave Westley, instructor, Salt Lake Community College, "Community College Vocational Teacher of the Year."
- JoAn Cole, secretary, Northwest Junior High School, Salt Lake District, "Outstanding Service as a Classified Employee of the Year."
- Iona Barnett, food service manager, Lincoln Elementary School, Salt Lake District, "Outstanding Service as a Classified Employee of the Year."
