Richard Ernest Burke, 46, died peacefully at home from cancer on Sunday, Sept. 29, 1991, in Sandy, Utah.
He was born Feb. 9, 1945 in Idaho Falls,Idaho to Gordon A. and Lila B. Burke. He attended Lincoln Elementary School and graduated from Bonneville High School. He attended and later graduated from Ricks College after serving a mission to Southeast Mexico. In 1969 he graduated from BYU in Communications/Public Relations. In 1970 he was sealed to
E. Patrese Stosich in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. At the time of death he had been employed by McGraw-Hill Publishing Co. for 20 years, having lived in Puerto Rico three years, and New Jersey for 12 years, and a year ago settling in Sandy, Utah. He was an active High Priest in the LDS Church, having serving in many leadership positions.
He is survived by his wife, Patrese; a daughter, Aymee; and two sons, Brandon and Joshua; his parents, Gordon A. and Lila B. Burke, Provo; Mrs. Ron (Laurie) McIntyre, Mesa, Arizona; Mrs. Craig (Beverly) Davis, Stone Mountain, Georgia; Carter K. Burke, South Jordan; Spencer J. Burke, Boise, Idaho; Byron A.Burke, Phoenix, Arizona; and Kelly L. Burke, Sandy. He was preceded in death by one brother, G. Kent Burke.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 3, 11 a.m. at the Sandy Alta View Stake Center, 1850 East 8600 South. The family will meet with friends Wednesday, 7-9 p.m. at Memorial Estates Funeral Home, 3115 East 7800 South, and also one hour before the services at the church on Thursday.
Burial will be at Memorial Estates.
