Last week the annual UEA Conference moved prep football games back to Wednesday. This week, the annual deer hunt is responsible for moving the prep football schedule to Thursday.

Since it is the second-to-last week of the regular season, there are several key games on tap.A couple of big games will be played in Region 2. Brighton (3-1) plays at Cottonwood (4-1) in a battle for second place. Also Highland and Alta, a pair of 2-2 teams, play at 7:30 p.m. No. 1-ranked Skyline plays host to winless-in-league East at 7:30 p.m.

In Region 3 where four teams are logjammed at the top of the standings at 4-1, two of those teams go at it when West Jordan plays at Bingham in a 7:30 p.m. contest.

In Region 4, Timpview tries to stay unbeaten in league play when it travels to Mountain View, while in Region 1, Davis plays at Weber in an important game.

Looking at 3A, one of the better games should be the Bountiful at West game in Region 6. Both teams are 3-2.

In 2A Park City (6-0) will get a stern test when it plays at Morgan (5-1). The key 1A game pits two 3-0 teams Monticello and Duchesne.

Thursday's slate marks the next-to-last week of regular-season competition, with state tournament berths in the balance. The 1A and 2A quarterfinals and 3A and 4A inter-regional playoffs are scheduled for Nov. 1-2.
