The Weber State University Alumni Association has named six recipients of its 1991 Distinguished Alumni and Distinguished Service Awards.

Recipients of the Distinguished Alumni Award are Betty Lou Lamoreaux, a retired Orange County Superior Court judge from Newport Beach, Calif.; Roy C. Nelson; president of the Bank of Utah; and Ray Noorda, chief executive officer of Novell Inc.Winners of the Distinguished Service Award are Flora S. Ogan, associate editor of The Standard-Examiner in Ogden; Dr. Louis S. Peery, a retired Ogden orthopedic surgeon; and Harold C. Steed, chief executive officer of the Community First Bank in Clearfield.

"These awards are given annually to alumni or community leaders who have brought honor to Weber State and themselves through distinguished service to the university, the state, our nation or their professions," said L. Clifford Goff, chairman of the awards selection committee.

The awards were presented recently during the university's annual homecoming banquet.
