Dr. Evelyn Kenesson Voros, 79, died October 18, 1991, in Bountiful, Utah.
Born October 21, 1911, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Jay Huntley and Pearl Harris Kenesson. Married Frederic Voros; later divorced.Received Ph.D. from University of Michigan in 1945, where she was a Trueblood Fellow. Taught English and speech and coached debate at University of California, Santa Barbara, 1947 to 1954, and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, 1955 to 1975. Originated and taught Bible as literature course at Cal Poly. A popular Sunday School teacher in the LDS Church, she was beloved by her
students of all faiths.
Survived by her son, J. Frederic Voros, Jr. and wife, Vicki; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Christopher, David, and Julia, Salt Lake City; two sisters and a brother, Kathryn Watts and husband Willie, San Luis Obispo, California; Lucy Pearl Holland and husband Jimmy, Beaumont, Texas; and J. H. Kenesson, Jr. (Jiggs) and wife Doug, Woodville, Texas.
Evelyn was a remarkable woman who touched many lives for good.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 22nd, 12 Noon, Big Cottonwood 7th Ward, 5565 South Neighbor Lane (1610 East). Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Monday evening 7-8 pm, and at the 7th Ward on Tuesday, one hour prior to services.
Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
