To the editor:
Every single witness who appeared and testified, black, white, Hispanic, male or female, who knew both Thomas and Hill, believed Judge Thomas and did not believe Hill. That is amazing. And many of those women had suffered sexual harassment. That meant much more to me than four witnesses who could only repeat what she had told them. And one of those, the law professor, after allegedly hearing all those nasty things about Thomas, refused to sign a petition against him. Hogwash.Anita Hill, a very bright Yale Law School graduate, when deciding whether or not to follow her "harasser" to the EEOC, did not check her options to see if she could keep her job. Hogwash. Do you have any idea how much in demand a young, beautiful, black, bright, Yale Law School graduate was in 1983? Everyone was looking for those credentials during those years.
Finally, to those who think that he is an automatic vote to override Roe vs. Wade, or vote against women on the abortion issue, don't bet your mortgage. He is going to surprise the conservatives on many issues. This man is deeply sensitive to the rights of women and we shall see that in his votes and decisions.
