Regional Telephone Directory has increased its sales this year 40 percent over last year for its Salt Lake directory.

Leonard Langley, co-founder and chief executive officer of Pacific Coast Publishing Inc., parent company of RTD, attributes the rise in sales to the book's users."Our directory is easy to use and offers more information over a broader area in one book. Directory users appreciate this ease and convenience. They choose and use our book and that attracts more advertisers," he said.

Introduced to Salt Lake City in 1988, the Regional Telephone Directory is a single telephone book combining white and yellow pages for Salt Lake City, Park City, Tooele, Grantsville and Farmington.

In 1984, RTD published a single directory. Now the company publishes eight telephone books in Utah, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.

The new directory has a color guide section listing restaurants, family entertainment, hotels and apartments. It also features thousands of dollars worth of coupons from local businesses and a 25-page community section listing ski areas, Utah ZIP codes, street maps, bus routes and recreational information.
